LENT 2025—IN CHRIST ALONE MY HOPE IS FOUND

“…PRAY FOR EACH OTHER…” LETTER OF JAMES 5: 16

There is constant encouragement in the Scriptures to pray for one another. As Christians we are on this journey together. On the First Sunday of Lent, you will find a slip of paper in your pew – please put your name on it. The ushers will collect the slips. As you leave church you will be invited to take the name of a fellow parishioner and pray for that person during the weeks of Lent. If you will not be in church on that weekend please contact the rectory and your name will be submitted.

THE PEACEFUL PATH OF HOPE

An insightful little booklet for your own personal prayer—one page for each day of Lent. Found at the doors of the church. Also at the church doors: “Renewing our Hope” daily Lenten prayer for the Jubilee Year and for families, “Hope Lights the Way.”

BOOK DISCUSSION

Come join us in a discussion based on the book: ‘Beautiful Hope: Finding Hope Every Day in a Broken World’ by Matthew Kelly Wednesday mornings at 9:15 in the lower Church after the 8:30 Mass for six sessions during Lent starting on 05 March and ending on 09 April. Please come. God wants you to have hope!

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Stations of the Cross will be every Friday during Lent after morning Mass. Booklets will be available for individual use at other times.

DAILY MASS

One wonderful way to make this season holy is to participate in daily Mass or a few days each week. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. Mass is celebrated every weekday morning at 8:30 a.m. except Tuesday when it is at 5:30 p.m.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

First Friday Adoration: April 4 from 5-7 p.m. Quiet prayer before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament is offered every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:20 p.m. Confession is available from 4:30 p.m.to 5:20 p.m.

THE ROSARY

Every Thursday at 7 p.m. in the church. Come join in this powerful prayer.

LENTEN ABSTINENCE

All Catholics 14 years and older are to abstain totally from meat on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are also days of fast – no eating between meals.

Fasting is traditionally abstaining from food, but consider the suggestions of fasting proposed by Pope Francis—they will be in the bulletin next weekend.

HALLOW

An easy app to bring a spiritual reflection to your phone each day. Go to hallow.com or download the app at the app store: Hallow Prayer App

ALMSGIVING

“Rice Bowls” found at the church doors may be placed on your dinner table as a reminder to share our abundance with the needy of the world. This year our donations will be shared with the homeless refugees in Gaza, the victims of fires in Los Angeles, and the victims of the fire in Lake Placid.
